Surface-tolerant epoxy mastic
A multi-purpose, two-component epoxy mastic primer built for surface tolerance and high film build; ideal where optimum blasting isn’t possible. It bonds to carbon steel, galvanised and stainless steel, aluminium and aged coatings, can be applied at sub-zero temperatures, and protects above and below the waterline as a primer, midcoat or single-coat system.
Abrasion-resistant epoxy mastic
A high-solids, high-build epoxy mastic that adds abrasion resistance and long-term protection in highly corrosive and immersed environments. Surface-tolerant and tintable across a wide colour range through Jotun’s Multicolor Industry (MCI) system, it works as a primer, midcoat, finish or single-coat over steel, aluminium and concrete.
Fast-dry pure epoxy
A two-component pure epoxy that combines high build and abrasion resistance with fast dry-to-handle times for efficient newbuilding and maintenance. Available in standard and quick-dry grades, its high flexibility suits the temperature swings seen on crude, chemical and shuttle tankers, and it performs throughout a system — primer to finish — in atmospheric and immersed service.
Wide-adhesion outfitting epoxy
A pure epoxy outfitting primer engineered for outstanding adhesion across an unusually wide range of substrates; carbon and stainless steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, GRP and thermally sprayed zinc. With service temperatures spanning cryogenic (-196 °C) to 210 °C and water-ballast-tank approval as a holding primer, it can be used as primer, midcoat, finish or single-coat in atmospheric and immersed areas.
Fast-drying high-build epoxy
A fast-drying, high-solids, high-build epoxy primer designed for newbuilding where short dry-to-handle and overcoating times keep projects moving. It protects steel, aluminium, galvanised steel and concrete in aggressive C4 and C5 atmospheres, and is equally at home on offshore structures, bridges, buildings and industrial steel.
Quick-dry alkyd primer
A one-component, zinc-phosphate alkyd primer that needs no mixing and dries hard in around 90 minutes, cutting waste and speeding up handling. Surface-tolerant and easy to apply by spray, brush or roller direct to steel, aluminium or wood, it’s an efficient choice for engine rooms, decks, superstructures and general industrial steelwork.
High-build epoxy intermediate
The same fast-drying Penguard Express epoxy also performs as a high-build intermediate coat, adding film thickness and barrier protection between primer and topcoat. Its short recoat times make it efficient to build a robust, corrosion-resistant system in atmospheric environments up to C5.
MIO-reinforced epoxy midcoat
A fast-drying, high-build epoxy reinforced with micaceous iron oxide (MIO) for enhanced barrier protection as a midcoat in demanding atmospheric conditions. The lamellar MIO pigment strengthens the coating film, making it well suited to structural steel and piping across offshore, refinery, bridge and industrial settings.
Zinc-phosphate epoxy
A fast-curing, high-build epoxy pigmented with zinc phosphate for active anti-corrosive performance in atmospheric environments. Usable as a primer or midcoat and able to be applied down to sub-zero surface temperatures, it’s a dependable layer for steel structures exposed to corrosive conditions.
Flexible direct-to-metal polyurethane
A two-component aliphatic acrylic polyurethane topcoat with a glossy, colour-stable finish and exceptional flexibility and impact resistance. A hybrid binder and built-in anti-corrosive pigments allow direct-to-metal, single-coat use in C2–C3 environments, while high build and fast drying let coated items be stacked and handled sooner.
All-round polyurethane topcoat
Jotun’s go-to high-solids polyurethane topcoat, delivering a durable, glossy finish with excellent colour and gloss retention over epoxy systems in aggressive atmospheres. Low dry-spray and very good flow make it predictable and easy to apply by airless spray, brush or roller, and it’s tintable across a full colour range including most RAL and BS shades.
High-build polyurethane topcoat
A two-component aliphatic acrylic polyurethane topcoat with very good colour and gloss retention and a high-build film. It cures well at low temperatures and offers strong water, abrasion, solvent and chemical resistance, making it a durable finish over epoxy systems in aggressive atmospheric exposure.
Quick-dry alkyd topcoat
A fast-drying, one-component urethane-modified alkyd topcoat that needs no mixing and delivers an attractive semi-gloss finish. Quick to handle and easy to apply, it suits engines, topsides, decks and superstructures, as well as touch-up work across a wide range of industrial steelwork.
Brush & roller polyurethane
A high-solids, two-component aliphatic acrylic polyurethane topcoat formulated specifically for brush and roller application, with a glossy finish and good gloss retention. It’s a cost-effective way to achieve a durable, attractive polyurethane finish on steel in atmospheric environments without spray equipment.
Easy-apply alkyd topcoat
A one-component, glossy alkyd topcoat prized for its simplicity; no mixing, no pot-life limits, and ready application by brush, roller or spray on both new and aged coatings. Available in a full assortment of colours with good gloss retention, it’s a cost-effective finish for topsides, decks, superstructures and general industrial structures.
Direct-to-metal acrylic topcoat
A one-component acrylic finish coat with direct-to-metal, high-build and fast-drying properties that cures down to −10 °C. Needing no mixing and no pot-life management, it streamlines painting schedules and can be used as a single-coat DTM finish in C2 environments or two coats in C3.
Direct-to-metal acrylic primer-finish
A one-component, fast-drying acrylic that works direct to metal as a combined primer and matt finish, with high build and good colour retention. Applied by brush, roller or spray; even at sub-zero surface temperatures; it’s ideal as a one-coat solution and for touch-ups on steel containers, cladding, modular buildings and large industrial equipment.
We provide tailored coating systems for a variety of heavy-duty sectors, including:
